Your Financial Blueprint: How We Build a Plan That Lasts
Over the years of sitting across the table from families, business owners, and individuals, one thing has become clear to me:
A financial plan isn’t something you grab off a shelf. It’s something you build—step by step—with care, intention, and a whole lot of listening and understanding where you are coming from.
At SFS, we call this your financial blueprint. Just like a coach wouldn’t send a team onto the field without a game plan—or a builder wouldn’t pour a foundation without a detailed design—you shouldn’t make financial decisions without a clear roadmap.
Here’s what that process looks like when we work together:

Step 1: Understanding Your Vision
Before we talk numbers, we talk about you.
What does financial success mean in your world? Is it retiring early to travel, paying for kids’ or grandkids’ education, giving back to causes you care about, or simply having peace of mind knowing your family is protected?
This is where I listen most. We’ll dive into your hopes, worries, and even those “what ifs” that keep you up at night. This isn’t about your neighbors financial plan or your uncles—it’s about creating a plan that reflects your values, lifestyle, and dreams.

Step 2: Taking Inventory
Once we know where you want to go, we look at the tools you already have for the journey.
That means reviewing investments, savings, insurance, debts, and more. And it’s not just about numbers—we dig into the “why” behind past choices. More often than not, this step uncovers opportunities and risks people didn’t even realize were there.

Step 3: Designing the Plan
Here’s where the creativity comes in.
With your vision and resources in mind, we start sketching the “blueprint”. That might include retirement savings strategies, investment alignment, tax planning, insurance updates, and estate considerations.
Because we’re independent, our advice is objective. I’m not here to push products—I’m here to design what’s best for you. We don’t take the trust our clients give us lightly.

Step 4: Putting It in Motion
A plan on paper doesn’t change lives—action does.
We’ll walk step-by-step through the “why” behind every move. And we’ll coordinate with your CPA, attorney, HR department—whoever’s on your financial team—so everything works seamlessly. Implementation is key, otherwise you are left with just a piece of paper.
A good financial plan doesn’t just live in the past because: life changes. Careers shift. Kids grow. Priorities evolve. Your plan should keep up with you, not the other way around.

Step 5: Reviewing and Adjusting
At least once a year, we’ll sit down to check in. We’ll review progress, celebrate wins, and adjust as needed. Maybe you’ve had a job change, welcomed a new child or grandchild, or decided to make a big lifestyle shift. Whatever the case, your plan evolves with you.
Many clients tell me this is their favorite part—not just the numbers, but having someone in their corner year after year who knows their story and keeps them on track and advocates for them. We are hear to help you make the best decision, even when you may not know what to do.
